The 3M Urethane Primer Daubers are essential for the application of urethane primers. Urethane primer is applied as the next coating after self-etching or epoxy primers, fillers, existing finishes and even bare metals. After having stripped the car of old paint, fixing body damage and abrading the surface, your next step will be to seal the body surface using a primer before applying color to the body.
The common types of primers are epoxy, self-etching and polyester primers. After applying one of the primers, your next step will be to apply the urethane primer. Applying urethane primer helps in getting your bodywork to look flat and nice. You can use the urethane primer surfacer along with existing coating when you plan to do a scuff and shoot paint job. We suggest that you finish the surface using 180-220 grit sandpaper before you daub the urethane primer.
