Auto glass shops have used wire to remove bonded glass ever since manufacturers started "gluing" them in years ago. The TightWire included in this kit is designed to cut out windshields and resists breaking in the process. It is made of 3 extremely strong stainless steel wires that are braided to form one wire. Then the wire is anodized to a smooth, gold finish. Braided wire allows for a sawing action to cut urethane when pulled in a straight line. With the WireStarter tool it allows you to push wire through urethane with ease. It is constructed of stainless steel. Simply lay flat side of aluminum handle on glass and then push tube through urethane. TightWire Grips hold cut-out wure securely. They are made of aluminum then covered with red vinyl for added comfort.
Kit includes:
- (1) 72' Roll, TW72 TightWire, .022" diameter
- (1) Set, TWH500 TightWire Grips
- (1) WS782 Wirestarter
Directions: The Wirestarter is a hollow, stainless steel tube thatis pushed through the urethane. Feed the TightWire through the tube and thetube is removed, leaving the wire started through the urethane. To use thegrips, unscrew the two halves, insert the wire into the small hole, bend thewire over and pull it around the center at least one time. Then, twist thehandles back together tightly.
