Prepare the surface you want to apply clearcoat on by washing it thoroughly with a mild detergent and hot water. Rinse it well with a clean and dry cloth. If you intend to use a solvent cleaner to remove grease, you must wipe dry with a dry cloth. After mixing with the hardener in the proportion indicated above, stir thoroughly and strain the mix. Put two coats by maintaining a gap of 2 to 5 minutes between coats. HVLP air pressure of 8-10 psi and conventional pressure of 50-60 psi is essential for perfect application and finish. Allow single stage enamels to air dry at 70 degrees F and it may take up to 8 hours. When forced to dry at 120 degrees F, it will take 30 minutes. If you need to buff the surface, then you can sand it with 1500 or finer grit paper within 24-48 hours of the clearcoat application.
